A fifteen year prayer has been answered....

If my calculations are correct I have had 12 surgeries, yes, I did say 12! I had no choice in the decision of those, but this time is different. After months of research, prayer, fasting, pro & con lists, talking to the magic 8 ball, and a series of miracles, I have chosen to have surgery #13. I know that this may seem odd to some of you but I am completely excited. With some of the health problems I have had since birth I have been forced to take several medications with the main side effect being weight gain. It has been one of the hardest things I have had to endure in my life...and those of you who know me really well know I have been through A LOT! So, with the series of miracles I mentioned before I am able to have Lap Band Surgery!!!

This is much less invasive than the old gastric bypass surgery that was always done before. Less problems, less pain, it's out patient surgery, easier to recover from and has a better success rate...what more could I ask for. I am excited beyond words to have this opportunity and I can't wait until the day which is AUGUST 18!

This is what my innards will look like. The tube with the button looking top is a port that will be below my skin so the band can be adjusted (bigger or smaller) depending on the situation I am in. This surgery is also completely reversible in case there is ever a problem.

I am hoping for the best, and my faith lies in my Heavenly Father, who I know answers prayer's, even if it takes 15 years!
