Blast from the past...

These are my GREAT friends.
Everyone, meet the Howe's!
Alyssa and I met in our college ward at USU.
We were visiting teaching partners but knew our friendship
would last forever on the fateful day I saved her life in the parking lot.
A speeding car was out of control and I pushed her out of the way just in time...
...ok that might be a slight exaggeration, but it is my favorite memory!
Then we were roommates before and after her mission.
Jesse, Alyssa and Russton came to
see me today and it was AWESOME!!
I have missed them so much since I moved back to Idaho!!!!
I would have to rate today as one of my favorite days because seeing them
really was a blast from the past!

On the 4th of July Jesse had a heart attack and I am so grateful
to Heavenly Father that he is ok! What a great family!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Fruits of our labors...

I love watching our garden grow, but even better
than that is when you start getting the beginnings of the harvest!
We have fresh garden peas!!!
We have been so blessed with our garden this year. It is amazing!
Now I really have to thank Annie and Garth for that,
because they are the
best weeders I've ever met!

Zucchini
The garden, look how amazing the rows are!!!

In the spring I decided to plant a bed of wild flowers.
But, I don't think I should take up gardening as a profession...
...because when you see the big picture you'll realize that I have a
problem when it comes to spreading seeds evenly.
I guess it's not too bad for a first try.
Tomato's and cucumbers
I can't wait for the harvest!

A POWERFUL SPEAKER....

If you don't live in Idaho, Utah or maybe a close surrounding area,
the name Glen Rawson may not mean anything
to you. He is the voice you hear every Sunday morning
on the radio adding gospel messages to the "Sounds of Sunday!"
(Learn more about this amazing man at www.soundsofsunday.com/history)

Yesterday (Sunday) my ward was blessed to have him come and give a patriotic fireside.
I was blown away with the spirit of truth as he talked of Thomas Jefferson
and the Declaration of Independence, telling me all the amazing details I'd never heard.
Sharing with scripture how God played an amazing roll in this entire
process. Last night I decided if I'd had him as a
high school history teacher, I would know something about history!
If you ever have a chance to hear him in person DO IT!

A GREAT THOUGHT!!!

My ward had stake conference a few weeks ago and the Temple President
spoke. His talk was great, but one thing that he said has stuck
with me so I wanted to share it with everyone.
"The distance between you and the temple on the hill (or where ever
your temple is) could be the distance between
you and eternity!"
I'm guessing from things that I heard during our conference that
temple attendance has been a little disappointing. With all
of the communities around here and BYU-I we have been
given a new challenge to be a temple going people!
This is such a beautiful House of the Lord, how could we not want to go.
I for one am going to manage my time a little better
so I can help answer the call!
